Rubb Halls Make an Appearance at DIHAD – Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition
May 8th, 2008 by Rubb
Frode Gjøen, Sales Manager from Rubb Norway and Ian Hindmoor from Rubb UK recently attended the 2008 Dubai International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition (DIHAD) on behalf of the Rubb Group, showcasing Rubb Hall shelter and building products and their unique advantages for humanitarian aid projects.
The portability, durability and ease-of-use of Rubb shelters makes them ideal as emergency relief shelters. For over 25 years Rubb has been a major supplier of emergency shelters to international humanitarian organizations, providing necessary shelter in troubled and environmentally harsh regions such as Cambodia, Sudan and Afghanistan.
Previously the bulk of these shelters were distributed by W. Giertsen AS, a close neighbor of Rubb in Bergen, Norway. Starting in August of this year, however, Rubb will be directly selling humanitarian organizations like the Red Cross, Care and World Vision under the Rubb Hall name.
DIHAD is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, and is officially supported by the United Nations and the UAE Red Crescent Society. This year’s event took place from the 8 – 10 April at the Dubai International Convention Centre, and featured prominent speakers from across the globe, workshops, and of course the exhibition hall.
