Stevedoring Services of America Los Angeles, California Bulk Storage Project
This 51,000 square foot BVE Twin Link structure is used by Stevedoring Services of America for fruit transfer operations. It was completed in only four months from date of order in 1993 despite severe winter rains which caused delays on the foundation work. This structure was used as a set for the 2003 feature film "The Italian Job" by Paramount Pictures.

The Town of Hollis, New Hampshire required 6,000 square yards of storage capacity. Rubb met their requirement with a 90' x 116.8' BVE Building with a 26.2' leg height. By utilizing an inner berm wall constructed of ecology blocks, an I-beam foundation fabricated by Rubb, Inc and anchored with ground anchors, the customer was able to erect the salt storage facility without a conventionally poured foundation which results in cost savings for the client.

Rubb, Inc. of Sanford, Maine has recently completed a second bulk salt storage facility for the City of Dover, New Hampshire.
In 1997, the City purchased a small warehouse for salt storage. Impressed with the speed of construction, quality of product and the cost efficiency of the Rubb structure, the City placed a second order for a much larger facility.
As with all Rubb relocatable buildings the steel was hot dip galvanized after fabrication. The added protection of a powder coating was applied to the portion of the building which attached to the berm wall. The roof consisted of a 28 ounce translucent PVC coated polyester membrane which provided excellent natural lighting during daylight hours. The gables and sidewalls were an attractive tan color which blended well with the City's other structures.

The Rubb warehouse consists of three linked spans, each 110' wide, providing a total covered area of 330' in width and 472.5' in length. The interior of the structure is interrupted by a total of only twenty two columns providing great flexibility of use to V.I.T. The Rubb structure has a hot-dipped galvanized tubular steel truss frame for maximum corrosion protection. The cladding is a PVC coated polyester tensioned membrane with a translucent roof which provides approximately 150 footcandles of natural illumination during daylight hours.

Logistec USA, Inc. of Brunswick, Georgia USA needed to replace aging wooden covers for two circular bulk storage facilities. They contacted Rubb, Inc. to design, fabricate, deliver and install two 116' (35.4m) diameter custom dome covers. The material being stored in bulk was urea, a material used in fertilizers which, because of its chemical properties, required a departure from Rubb's usual practice of post fabrication hot dip galvanizing.
The black steel frame was delivered to site and painted with a special paint to protect it from the corrosive components associated with urea. Tensioned over these steel structures was heavy duty PVC coated polyester membranes.
In addition to these covers Rubb also designed a custom canopy to link the two structures during transfer of materials.
